Organic & Handcrafted

Our focus at Fantail Hill is on a warm welcome and organic homemade produce. We love to create delicious breakfasts for our guests featuring ancient grain sourdough bread (a traditional family recipe passed down from Siegfried’s grandmother), home made muesli, preserves from our own fruit and honey from the local Fantail Hill bees.

We offer a selection of plant based milks (in addition to cow’s milk) plus gluten free bread on request.

Your hosts

We are Siegfried and Carmel plus our loveable Swiss Shepherd dog, Mia.

We have local knowledge of - and can advise you on - nearby Thames and Coromandel Peninsula attractions. We speak both English and German.

Siegfried worked as a Chef and Event Organiser for many years in Europe, always with the dream of running a small B&B in New Zealand.

Carmel is a Kiwi who was working as a Business English coach in Germany when she met Siegfried, they returned to New Zealand together and found a beautiful spot in their favourite region - the Coromandel Peninsula

They have a fluffy friendly dog to keep you entertained.
